Euphemism is the technique we use to say or present an unpleasant thing in a mild way.
Example:
- She lived unknown, and few could know
When Lucy ceased to be;
(She Dwelt among the Untrodden Ways)
The poet does not mention about Lucy's death directly. Instead, untimely death of Lucy is announced through the word 'ceased'.
